Biruni Institute has initiated a program of policy dialogues on Peace & Economics for the calendar year of 2020. The aim of the program is to enhance awareness of all stakeholders in the peace process on economic and fiscal challenges in the country, by stimulating public dialogue on key economic policy issues and business environment fundamentals that are required to enable economic recovery after a potential peace settlement.
The first event in the series, titled “Policy Dialogue on Peace & Economics” was held on February 17, 2020.
Biruni Institute and the United States Embassy in Kabul co-organized the “Policy Dialogue on Peace & Economics” in February 17, 2020 in Kabul. The event brought together a large and diverse group of around 70 participants from the Government, donors and diplomatic missions, members of the parliament, business community, academia, senior representatives from the media, civil society, and former members of the Taliban movement.
