The Institute encourages and promotes open dialogue on key policy issues to help create an environment for critical thinking and shaping the public opinion. We aim to stimulate a productive national debate through a positive engagement between the Government, the think tanks, and the people that can eventually help improve policy decisions.

To this end, the Biruni Institute will convene formal and informal events aimed at promoting dialogue on key policy issues, triggering debate on topics that have attracted less attention, and appraising regional cooperation initiative. For the latter, the Institute will encourage dialogue on regional interests of Afghanistan by launching a series of bilateral and trilateral initiatives with the countries in the region.

FORUM FOR POLICY DIALOGUE (FPD)

The Biruni Institute will convene on a regular basis formal & informal public discussions on policy issues. These gatherings will bring together a wide range of participants, including policymakers, national & international experts, academics, and business professionals. The Forum for Policy Dialogue will aim to trigger national debate on policy issues, promote and rationalize public critique of economic policy reforms, and integrate economic policy into the political discourse.

KNOWLEDGE SHARING & ADVOCACY EVENTS

The Biruni Institute will convene conferences, seminars, and peer-learning events to enhance knowledge sharing, disseminate research findings, increase public awareness on contemporary economic issues & national development programs, strengthen the debate between civil society, media, and the Government, and to reinforce civil society’s role in influencing economic policy decisions. The Institute will also launch a series of Track II dialogue events with neighboring countries on regional connectivity and economic cooperation.
